“No Failure in Jesus” part 5

Happy Jesus Day:

The Lord, thy God, should not be tempted (verse 9). Israel tempted God and was killed by serpents (Numbers 21:1-9). They kept pestering God for things that were forbidden. They used every opportunity they could get as an excuse to return to Egypt. Tempting God is to go against His will knowingly. We do it at our own peril. Marring an unbeliever, lying to secure a better job, fiddling with your income tax returns, or victimizing or manipulating the people God has put under your care as Minister of the gospel or Pastor is tempting God. “It is written again, “You shall not tempt the Lord your God.” (Matthew 4:7). We are each born with a conscience, an “inner voice,” which acts as a guide to tell us what is right and wrong. If we purposely do what we know is wrong and go against our conscience, still expecting God to bless us and forgive us repeatedly for things we know are wrong, then we are tempting Him.
